The so-called "bidirectional flow measurement" refers to using the same set of flow meters to measure the flow rate of the measured medium during forward and reverse flow.
Balanced flow meters are suitable for most gases, fluids and steam. This bidirectional flow function comes in handy when gas storage tanks are needed for peak shaving in underground gas storage and other places.
How to implement bidirectional flow depends on its structure. There is a porous orifice plate in the middle of the sensor of the balance flow meter.
