When we talk about the application of magnetic flowmeters in the chemical industry, a key question is whether it is suitable for flow measurement of a specific liquid medium. This issue is particularly important when dealing with acetic acid solutions. Magnetic flowmeter is a precision instrument that works based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction. It is used to measure the volume flow of conductive liquid with sufficient conductivity flowing through a pipeline.

The working principle of the magnetic flowmeter relies on the electromotive force generated by the flowing liquid cutting the magnetic induction lines, which is proportional to the fluid speed. However, this measurement method has a prerequisite, that is, the measured medium must have a conductivity of greater than or equal to 5 microSiemens per centimeter (μS/cm), so as to ensure the effective generation and detection of current signals.

For pure acetic acid, its conductivity decreases as the concentration increases. At 25°C, the conductivity of 100% pure acetic acid alcohol solution is 0.0012μS/cm, which is much lower than the electromagnetic flow rate. Minimum work requirements for planning. After further dilution to 20%, the conductivity increased to 1605 μS/cm, which means that acetic acid solutions of this concentration can be accurately and unobstructedly measured using electromagnetic flowmeters.

Even at lower temperatures, such as 0.3% acetic acid solution at 18°C, its conductivity can still reach 318μS/cm, and it is also suitable for magnetic flowmeters for flow measurement.

In summary, when choosing an magnetic flowmeter to measure acetic acid solution, its applicability needs to be judged based on the actual concentration and corresponding conductivity of the solution. For high-concentration pure acetic acid or near-purity acetic acid solutions, magnetic flowmeters may not be the best choice; but for dilute acetic acid solutions that contain higher moisture or other electrolyte components and thus have higher conductivity, magnetic flowmeters can be used. Flow meters make efficient and accurate flow measurements.
